This is so true so I also say:
I'm on holidays!
Getting close to the end of the year there are some good news for human rights activists:
UN Calls for Moratorium on Death Penalty: The global campaign against the death penalty secured a landmark victory on Tuesday when the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the call for a worldwide moratorium (suspension) on executions. In a landslide result, 104 UN member states voted in favour of the ground-breaking resolution. 54 countries voted against, while there were 25 abstentions.
The others are saying: NO!
In this weblog you can find a collection of other campaigns.
In my next life I want to live my life backwards. You start out dead and get that out of the way. Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get a gold watch and a party on your first day. You work for 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school. You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play. You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born. And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa like conditions with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and then Voila! You finish off as an orgasm! I rest my case.
Arash's Photo says it all. This is one of the posters of Ahmadinejad's campaign for the election a few years ago. It reads "Maximum comfort and Joy for all Iranian people".
He just forgot to mention that by "All" he just meant those "All" that think the same as he does. The rest of the people are not included in "All", so they don't need any comfort, let alone the Joy!
- The first Biodiesel powered Jet:
Scientific Americal: A 1968 L-29 Czechoslovakian jet—dubbed BioJet 1—flew up to 17,000 feet (5,180 meters) over 37 minutes powered 100% on cooking oil. A three minute, 15-second test the day before was the world's first flight entirely fueled by cooking oil.
- Talking about Fuel and alternative energy sources, in Nature collections, you can find Energy collections (Accessible for free), which is a collection of articles on different sources of energy. I'm sure you can find useful information there. These collections are really valuable one just has to find the time and surf through them.
